Shakti's dance interpretation of
Beauty and the Beast escalates dramatically from a calm beauty into its own destructive force. In our darkest, most private moments, inner torments strike strange and powerful illusions. In a reflection of us, Shakti is both the ‘Beauty’ and the ‘Beast’, taking us through the various stages when one becomes the other.... transforming beyond recognition and asking the question - dare we reveal this hidden, other person? The constrained, eerie music has been specially composed by Steven Severin, formerly of punk group Siouxie and The Banshees, and Arban Severin. This is Shakti and Steven's second collaboration after their internationally acclaimed Woman of the Dunes.
