The Barber of Seville

The Barber of SevilleT540361926
Best known as an opera by Rossini, this 18th Century play by Beaumarchais dazzled audiences with its irreverent humour, political daring and unforgettable characters. The irrepressible Figaro, town barber and mischief-maker, learns that the dashing Count Almaviva loves the beautiful Rosina, ward of the foolish old doctor Bartholo. Figaro gleefully masterminds a plan to outwit Bartholo and win the hand of Rosina for the Count.
