Museums and Galleries Month 2000 celebrates museums and galleries as meeting places - of people and cultures. Where better to meet friends and family than at the Theatre museum, in the heart of Covent Gardens. Amongst the themes of Museums and Galleries Month 2000 is The Past Inspires the Future. The Theatre Museum is offering: - Theatrical Families Trails - daily tours that offer the chance to tour the galleries and discover how many theatrical dynasties have presided over the British stage and the theatrical tales surrounding their lives offstage. Shadow Puppet Workshops - twice daily at 12:30-15:00-join our workshops to look at how traditional Indonesian and Javanese shadow puppets have inspired puppetry in Britain today. Look out for the new Stage Truck - where you will find a range of exciting activities, specially designed for family audiences, offering a fun and lively opportunity to explore and interact with museum exhibits. Daily costume workshops and demonstrations on the art of stage make-up available for all ages.
