Ian Duhig and Douglas Dunn will be talking to each other about, and reading from, their work, which will be followed by a book signing in the Great Hall of the Theatre. Ian Duhig has published six poetry collections including THE BRADFORD COUNT, THE MERSEY GOLDFISH and THE SPEED OF DARK, of which the Guardian said, "The lightness of touch and the humour of this collection are subversive in contexts where many might fear to speak". His work has been short-listed for the Forward and T. S. Eliot prizes, and he has won the National Poetry Competition twice. Ian is also well know for his writing of libretti and musical adaptations. Joining Ian is Douglas Dunn, whose poetry collections include ST. KILDA'S PARADISE, THE DONKEY'S FACE and THE YEAR'S AFTERNOON. His poetry has won the Whitbread Book of the Year, the Hawthornden Prize and the Scottish Arts Council Book Award. He has also written short stories, and television and radio plays, and edited anthologies and critical works. He was awarded an OBE in 2003, and was Professor of English at St Andrews in the University's Scottish Studies Centre, which he directed until 2008.
