RWCMD Symphonic Brass is comprised of some of the finest brass players currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. The 11 piece ensemble has developed its own professional role, establishing itself as the ensemble in residence at Llandaff Cathedral and touring throughout the UK. Join them in a musical journey taking you from the 16th century to the present day as they explore and explain the development and evolution of brass instruments and their musical role during the past four centuries. JS Bach’s magnificent and virtuosic Third Brandenburg Concerto is matched with repertoire which celebrates the spirit of dance across the ages - from 16th century Germany to modern day jazz-inspired settings of traditional Balkan music.
