Details
This tribute to one of our greatest English actresses uses prose, poetry, drama and music to paint a compelling portrait of a theatrical legend. Dame Sybil's acting career spanned almost seventy years, and when she died in 1976, she was referred to by Sir John Gielgud as "the best-loved English actress since Ellen Terry." Her first love, however, was music, and she made a life-long study of the piano. This is why the music of Bach and Chopin form an integral part of this stage portrait of one of the leading players of the twentieth century.
