Details

Iernin is based on a Celtic story inspired by the Nine Maidens stone circle near Penzance. When Iernin, one of the stone maidens, returns to life, conflict arises as she falls in love with a young nobleman and Cornish independence is threatened. Lloyd's music dramatically evokes the mystical world of Iernin as well as the very human struggle between love and loyalty versus desire.
