Details

Kullervo, like Oedipus, is a victim of fate and of the violent circumstances surrounding his birth. His earliest childhood memory is of his home burnt and family slain by his Uncle to whom he is then enslaved. Fostered in a loveless and vengeful existence he cannot escape his destiny which has made him dangerously violent in his turn.
