V: A Celebration of the Musical Spirit of Gordon Duncan

A National Treasure is the annual fundraising concert dedicated to the memory and music of the groundbreaking Pitlochry piper and composer Gordon Duncan, who died in 2005 at the age of 41. The Memorial Trust set up in his name by friends and family uses the proceeds of these concerts to support young Scottish-based traditional musicians to further their talents as performers and writers. One of Scotland s finest folk groups, Wolfstone, will close the show in honour of their former bandmate and Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis makes a long-awaited return to Perth with her full band in tow. A mouthwatering musical menu is completed by one of the all-time great Highland pipers, Pipe Major Gordon Walker, the brilliant mandolin and guitar duo Wingin It, BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician 2011, Orcadian fiddler Kristan Harvey, and the Scottish Power Pipe Band, one of the world's very finest.
