Basic archiveSet in a prison cell, examines the factors that can make a young man believe that crime pays. Explores the growing but ambivalent friendship between two black prisoners from different backgrounds. Charlie, a Dalston lad, wonders whether a gun and gang membership can buy him 'respect' or whether Ash, a former teacher, has other options that are worth pursuing.
