I Died At the Seaside archiveOne Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest meets Brighton Rock in this sad, rude and funny look at the problems of four forgotten people after their psychiatric ward is closed. Sam, Winnie, Archie and Rosie spend a day together at the beach, drinking, talking, laughing and playing games. Thrown into a hostile world, they create a web of fiction about themselves and each other, telling stories that mix the truth, salacious gossip and second-hand medical opinion. For Winnie, Archie and Sam, the stories are exaggerated, suspect and bewildering, but when Sam forces Rosie to reveal the truth of what actually happened to her and her child, the pain and loneliness of the story that she tells underlines the fragility of the life that they all still have to endure.
