I Love Peterborough archiveI Love Peterborough is a no holds barred depiction of ?growing up gay' in a provincial city complete with skinheads, biro tattoos, wedgies in the school bogs and heavy petting at the lido! Joel Horwood's darkly comic seventy-minute show is fronted by Lulu a big bloke with a dodgy wig, six-inch heels and delusions of celebrity. Lulu is backed by his son Hew a talented musician who both loves and loathes his father. The dysfunctional duo are born and brought up in Peterborough, a largely overlooked city best known for its brickworks, railway station and passport office. As the father and son double-act attempt to perform a cabaret version of their family story, the relationship starts to unravel.
