Inheritance archive"This lighter is an artefact. A historical relic. My father gave it to me and now I'm giving it to you. Can you not see the very importance of this moment?" Dennis knows his oval cut from his radiant. His son Jason wants to open galleries. Rebecca just wants to put her clothes back on. And when you know what you want, what's to stop you from getting it? "In my good natured way, I could never see it, I suppose. I was blind to it. I've never been able to understand selfishness, you see." Scott Wright's urgent new play is an examination of privilege and responsibility in a family stretched to breaking point. First commissioned in 2013 in a project facilitated by Middlesex University, Inheritance responds to a pressing concern for a generation being left behind by their parents. Thrust is a formidable ensemble with a reputation for risk-taking and invention. Multi-disciplinary collaborative practice is at the heart of everything they do.
