Lady of the English archiveIt's 1135 and King Henry I lies dying, his only legitimate heir is his daughter, Matilda. So why have we never heard of her? A woman who should have been as famous and powerful as Elizabeth Tudor. A woman who should have been the first in a long line of female 'Kings'. A woman 'marginal in her own story', finally put centre stage.
