Learning Lear archiveA successful actor visits an old friend and asks him a favour. He has been cast in the part of King Lear and wants to portray and mad king with some authenticity. His old friend has been through a period of mental illness and has had to abandon his own acting career. Will he help him out? Starting from this premise, Hugh Card tells a story of old rivalries and bitter memories as the two men teeter on the edge of sanity in the cause of the highest dramatic art.
