Two Jewish sisters are hidden in a Dutch attic for four years, the infant Catherine de Medici is secreted in a bucket down a well to avoid being used as a 'political pawn' by her uncle the Pope, whilst two Cuban boys plan to fly away to a better life by tucking themselves into the undercarriage of a Boeing 777.
