Take twelve characters, set them in a daytime TV studio add comedy, drama and a touch of murder mystery. What you end up with is Rough Cut. Media mogul Jim Scott will do ANYTHING to up the ratings for the shows he produces and presents. He guests on daytime TV's 'Jade's Jems' in order to promote his new show. All seems cosy and amiable but under the studio lights' relentless glare an altogether murkier reality is revealed.
