Created during Excellence in Cities week and Black History Month the project celebrates learning through the creative process and the performing arts. Pupils, artists, teachers and theatre professionals have devised and created a 20 minute site specific performance that takes you on a fantastical journey through story telling, dance, music, song, film and design. Routes to Roots is a Get Ahead Project; part of Hackney Empire s Real Life, Real Theatre Education Programme which is supported by The Paul Hamyln Foundation.
