Shakespeare in Bits archiveIn fair Verona, where we lay our scene, the lecherous King Leer is pondering which of his three daughters should succeed him. However his stepson Hamlet also covets his throne, as does his general, MacBeth, egged on by his ambitious wife. Who will succeed to the throne? Will Petruchio tame his shrew? Will Romeo end up with Juliet or with Ethel, the pig farmer's daughter? If Shakespeare had written just one play, it might have been this comedy of tragedies, but probably not. Written and performed by members and associates of Westbury Mens Hockey Club and Westberries Ladies Hockey Club.
