That's Enough, Shut Up! archiveAnother dreamworld, this time giving a child s view of recent events in Afghanistan. The performance projects a child s fantasy world of dream, fairy tale and war as it charts the imagined story of how Pinocchio and Don Quixote arrive in Afghanistan to prevent the destruction of Buddha s giant images, their subsequent capture by the Taliban forces and dramatic rescue. With the focus on the child s view and the burden of harsh reality borne by children, the standpoint is more anti-war than political and presents a rich and moving tapestry of ideas. This piece deserves as wide an exposure as possible.
