The Arbitrary Adventures of an Accidental Terrorist archiveOn Tuesday 28 February 2002, NYT member Adeel Akhtar took a flight to New York. Until he was led away by the FBI on landing, Akhtar was unaware that his presence on Air India flight 101 had caused a major security panic including its interception by four fighter jets. Using this real life event as stimulus, a cast of eighteen tell us the tale of an accidental terrorist famous for a moment and then left searching for an understanding of who he is and where he fits into the modern world. This surreal and exhilarating production takes the audience on a roller coaster ride through the twists, turns and unexpected pirouettes of life in 2002.
