A comedy in three acts by George Colman 'the Younger' Our new season of rehearsed readings of Georgian plays focuses on some of the best known male writers of the period, starting with George Colman 'the Younger'. Suddenly inheriting the title and fortune of Lord and Lady Duberly, Daniel and Deborah Dowlas employ eccentric scholar Dr Pangloss to give their lovesick son Dick an education befitting his new-found status. However, Dick prefers yearning to learning, and the return of the true heir sets in motion a hilarious set of events in which everyone finally finds their rightful place.
