The Marrying of Ann Leete, written in 1899 but set in 1799, had only two performances in 1902 until it was produced by the RSC in 1975. Carnaby Leete, a devious politician with a career in trouble, having married off one daughter to further his political ambitions, is now wet to do the same with daughter number two.
