The Toad Poems archive Fuses the writing of George Carroll with the poetry of Gerald Locklin and offers observations on the bliss and blisters of domestic life with riffs and rants on Beethoven, beer and other important topics. It's Southern California, 1975 and 'meticulously unadorned' professor/ performance poet Burl Turner has recently separated from his warm and witty wife, Kate and is living with his tenacious graduate student girlfriend, Casey Hale. But maybe all Burl really wants to do is write the Great American Novel and enjoy a sandwich - in peace.
