The Visit archiveFriedrich Durrenmatt's satirical and experimental black comedy deals with Claire Zachanassian's revenge against the money worshipping villagers of her native town, Gullen. Full of grotesque humour, the distressing love-story that unfolds has firm roots in folk lore and is given a light touch whilst dealing with serious issues such as hypocrisy, greed, inhumanity and man's ability to justify his actions - whatever they may be. The Gulleners pave their own way to murder!
