The Woodcutters Tale archiveSet in the near future, The Woodcutter's Tale is the story of a young couple who flee the city to the man's family home in the country. They find a landscape seemingly devoid of life, and his father and brother living on the edge of survival. The couple's arrival precipitates the unearthing of a terrible secret that will test the bonds of love to the limit. Part fairy tale, part dark comedy, the play asks the big questions that face us all. How far can we forgive? How do we prepare for death? Are love and humour enough in the face of the absurdity of life?
