This Is Our Youth is set in New York in 1982, the decade of 'money fever . The play depicts forty-eight hours in the lives of three rich middle class teenagers who have ,000 stolen dollars to blow on a hedonistic spending spree. It is Kenneth Lonergan s first play, written in 1996 and nominated for a Drama Desk Best Play Award. He was nominated for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for his 2001 film You Can Count on Me, which he wrote and directed.
