T2134162117In a strange and magical land, far far away the King and Queen are granted one special wish for a new baby daughter by Fairy Goody. Goody means well but things don't go quite to plan and when the Royal couple turn her away from the new Princess Beauty's naming ceremony, the Fairy casts a fateful spell on Beauty that will see her fall asleep for one hundred years. Struggling to right the wrong she has done, we follow Goody on her fairytale adventure as she awakens Sleeping Beauty from her spell with a kiss from the dashing and handsome Prince and they all live happily ever after? or do they? The trouble being that Sleeping Beauty's new mother-in-law is a fearsome man-eating Ogress after Beauty's babies, Goody's wings have fallen off because of her bad deed and all the fairytale creatures have to put up with some interesting side effects from the force of her magic that result in some rather smelly spells! Told from the point of view of the mischievous old Fairy who casts the spell in the first place, this weirdly wonderful, musical version of Sleeping Beauty has laughs aplenty and enough grisly and gruesome characters to keep all of the family entertained.Company Birmingham Repertory Theatre Company.
