A comedy of manners, Marxism an misogyny that satirises Old and New Labour, as well as the tabloid press. Undercover journalist Lola Forbes-McKendrick visits former Foreign Secretary Ben Tanner, intent on trapping him into admitting to a treasonable act committed while in office. But on arrival she unexpectedly encounters her ex-lover, Ben's half-brother Peter, from whom she split acrimoniously years earlier, and who never revealed his family connections. Somehow she must charm Peter into preserving her cover, and get her story.
