Jackie Leven Said is a new short story written by Ian Rankin, best selling author of the D.I. Rebus crime novels. Ian will be reading his new work, which is illustrated by musical interludes by Jackie Leven - Rebus' favourite singer. Known for his work with Doll By Doll and collaborations with the likes of Pere Ubu's David Thomas, Leven's songs come from a life teeming with hard experience and inspiring regeneration. Like the Rebus novels, the story examines the 'forensics of the soul' - and in their respective creative worlds, nobody does darkness better than these two fellow Scotsmen.
