Handel's famous oratorio - the story of Jesus' life told in magnificent music. In celebration of Handel’s 250th anniversary, this gloriously atmospheric event returns after previous sell-out visits to provide a wonderful festive entertainment at the Theatre Royal. Recreating Handel’s Messiah as it would have sounded at its 1741 premiere, the scene is set by the dedicated Master of Candles, providing illumination before the musicians appear in their strikingly colourful costumes.
