South African dance company Via Volcano fuse break dancing with hip-hop and tap to create a cutting edge dance show choreographed by multitalented hip-hop icon and British director, Benji Reid. In the old South Africa nothing could beat the colourful style, clothing and vitality of Pantsula dancers. Pantsula was, and still is, the dance of the streets, of the Ivy Lady and the Ivy Gentleman, the super female girl and the macho guy, the dance through which street gangs challenged each other, in a West Side Story fashion. Their style of dress - with baggy trousers and Converse sneakers - has become their trademark in South Africa and abroad.
