A Celebration of Dance in Portsmouth. Timesteps commemorates the pioneering work of Southsea dance teacher Madame Walker. In the 1920s and 30s, she toured her acclaimed companies of professional dancers, all young women form Portsmouth, to major theatres in cities throughout the United Kingdom, Europe and North Africa. Timesteps is a spectacular large-scale production at the Kings Theatre involving professional choreographers, young people and community groups. Together they will create dance pieces that celebrate the past, present and future of dance in Portsmouth.
