Hurricane Boy, a highly imaginative show, for children of 5 years+ and their families, is a warm hearted and often funny physical theatre show. A two-hander, it tells the story of a lonely boy who lives inside a storm, each day rebuilding his house from the rubbish whipped up by the winds. A girl appears and brings him through the gales and the rain. Together they share a summer of blue skies and warm sun, but when the hurricane takes her away the boy has to find his way, on his own. The show features live music written by the folk band Three Cane Whale who has also written for Kneehigh and Theatre Alibi. The piece explores themes of loneliness, boredom, chaos and calm, through a captivating story, enchanting live music and joyful, physical performances from a talented cast. Oxford Playhouse Evolve Artist in Residence Ellen Havard creates this new family production especially for the BT Studio this Easter.
