Big tent circus. It is just over 50 years since Gerry Cottle completed that age-old adage and ran away and joined the circus, swapping his suburban London home for a caravan & his schoolbooks for a set of juggling clubs. He soon excelled and expanded his repertoire to include stilt walking, bareback horse riding, fire eating, clowning & even a became a crocodile trainer, as explained in his recent biography 'Confessions of a Showman - My life in the circus'.
