The play revolves around Alceste who hates hypocrisy and whose determination to tell the truth becomes as destructive as his friends' instinct to avoid it. Master wordsmith Roger McGough dips his quill into a Moliere classic in this mockery of manners and morals set amid 17th century French aristocracy.
