Birthdays are celebrated all around the world, we laugh with current friends and cherish passed adventures. What if we turned that concept on its head? Shall we also celebrate our mortalday? What would change if we were more familiar with our end? There's no better day to try than Halloween! Happy Mortalday by Leoni Amandin is an interactive performance lecture. Leoni playfully explores her personal relationship with death, and invites audiences to join her. This party-inspired gathering packs a lot of fascinating facts about different funeral practices from around the world, exciting developments from the funeral industry, hilarious death-related shower thoughts, as well as giving practical advice for living well so we can die well. It also involves a small arts and crafts activity, so everyone gets to take home a souvenir too! There will be a 30 minute after show discussion with end of life doula Sabrina Singh. Sabrina will facilitate a guided conversation about death inspired by the curiosity of the participants.
