Kim Criswell - Kim Criswell, Takin’ Stock: 50 Years Upon the Wicked Stage archiveOn the 50th anniversary of her professional debut, Kim Criswell is delighted to appear for the very first time at the Crazy Coqs. In a departure from her usual symphonic appearances, she promises a more intimate and personal evening, as she goes back to the beginning and shares treasured songs, stories, and memories, not just about the shows and the people involved, but also about growing up and into the artist she has become. The career that started in an Atlanta, Georgia theme park unexpectedly has taken her from the stages of Broadway, Los Angeles and the West End to recording studios worldwide and concert halls from La Scala in Milan, La Fenice in Venice, the Chatelet in Paris, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam to all major halls in the UK, among many others. All these concerts and shows were in search of, and in service to, American musical theatre, both modern and classic. You can expect to hear some favourite songs, several that will be new to you, and tales of backstage drama, embarrassing events, audition fails (and even triumphs!), and the ups and downs of trying to stay on an even keel in the leaky boat that is a life upon the stage. Kim will be accompanied by the elegant piano stylings of John Gladstone Smith, West End wunderkind and all-around fabulous guy. Please join us for some musical theatre madness and magic!
