Details

The dying rays of Strauss' glorious Four Last Songs have come to symbolise a whole era in romantic music. Tonight David Jones and the Royal Welsh College Symphony Orchestra plunge into a sea of huge emotions and glorious colours, from the sweeping life-and-death drama of Strauss's Death and Transfiguration to the pastoral beauty and roof-raising triumph of Sibelius's epic Second Symphony. The melodies will stay with you forever. A special programme in celebration of the transformative leadership of Hilary Boulding, Principal of the College, who leaves us to assume the position of President of Trinity College, Oxford later this year.
