'Modern women want modern words, characters they can identify with'. Skyers Productions will be hosting a night of new modern female monologues. Each night there will be a mixture of drama, passion, comedy and sorrow. Warm, funny, poignant, moving, vibrant, dynamic, audacious and vivid - just some of the words people have used to describe Words And Women's eclectic annual showcase event. Join us on the 7th March to celebrate International Women's Day with the launch of our anthology of the best in regional women's writing, and some of the finest and most exciting women musicians around. Taking part is the incomparable Karen Reilly of the Neutrinos, the mesmerising Sink Ya Teeth and the unique Emily Winng, compered by Guardian award winning stand-up Louisa Theobald and more. Sunday Times Best-Selling and Costa First Book Award winning author Emma Healey will introduce the anthology and writers reading their winning entries. There will be short films in the auditorium too. This year Words and Women, a voluntary organisation, is fundraising for future writing projects and for Women For Refugee Women.
