Details
On the Little Mermaid's fifteenth birthday, she visits the world above the sea for the first time and falls in love with a prince. She braves a journey to the evil sea-witch, to whom she must sacrifice her voice and tail in exchange for legs. From then on, whenever she walks, it feels as though she is dancing on knives, as a reminder of what she has sacrificed for love. Far out to sea the water is as blue as a cornflower, as clear as glass, as cold as ice, and deeper than any anchor can reach. Down there live the sea people. The Mermaid loves the kingdom under the sea, yet longs to visit the land above the waves. Inspired by Hans Andersen's tale this new production by award winning Storybox Theatre will haunt the imagination of children and adults alike.
