Company of the leading choreographer Shobana Jeyasingh. City:zen - Flavours collide, distort and mutate, as SJDC ask ‘is there a recipe for the perfectly integrated citizen?’ Shobana Jeyasingh has created a unique dance language drawing on contemporary dance, Indian classical dance and martial arts. This new work reflects the time she has spent in Hong Kong and Japan over the last two years. Collaborating with Orlando Gough (music), and Shizuka Hariu (lighting), City:zen will explore the extremes of living in our urban spaces. Faultline - multi-lingual movement, film and a powerful score of electronic and vocal music evokes the current tensions of British-Asian youth.
