This thought provoking opera looks at voyaging and discovery in various forms - the voyage of the intellect; the voyage through both space and time and most importantly, the momentous task given Columbus by Queen Isabella of Spain and the disappointment of both in the outcome. We also see a scientist (based on Stephen Hawkins) and his voyaging imagination; astronauts from the future flying from a disintegrating planet and seeking a new home; and scientists and politicians in the future travelling in time to new galaxies. Sung in English, Latin and Spanish.
