Pins and Needles archiveSpoofing everything from fascist European dictators to bigots in the Daughters of the American Revolution organisation, Pins and Needles is the hit 1937 Broadway musical review with a decidedly pro-union standpoint. Originally conceived as a small scale production for the then striking International Ladies Garment Workers Union, in a basement of a clothes factory in New York, Pins and Needles went on to be the first and only successful Broadway musical review by non-professionals. To celebrate the production's 25th anniversary, a studio recording was released featuring the then unknown Barbra Streisand.
