Sixty years ago Judy Campbell was the first person ever to sing A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square in the revue New Faces. She subsequently went on to become Noel Coward's leading lady, playing opposite him in Blithe Spirit, Present Laughter and This Happy Breed. The roles of Joanna in Present Laughter and Ethel in This Happy Breed were especially created for her.
