Chicago Symphony Orchestra archiveOne of America's oldest and most highly regarded orchestras perform some of the greatest works in the classical repertoire, with legendary conductor Bernard Haitink. Experience the first and last symphonies from two of classical music's greatest composers. Mozart's final symphony, written in only a few weeks, features exuberant fanfares of trumpets and drums, and ends in a triumphant finale of blazing energy. In contrast, it took Brahms at least 14 years to write his first symphony - but the resulting work is one of his finest pieces, brimming with rich harmonies and expansive themes.
