Details
For this concert, our customary piano quartet becomes a piano trio, playing works by Clara Schumann and Debussy. Clara's trio was often paired in concert with her husband Robert's first piano trio. Often regarded as her masterpiece, Robert used features of Clara's work in his own written a year later. Debussy was just 18 when he wrote his highly romantic piano trio. It was thought to have been lost but was rediscovered and published in the 1980s.
