The orchestra will begin their programme with Rimsky Korsakov's exotic Introduction & Three Miracles from Tsar Saltan. Nina Kotova, the leading Russian cellist, will then join the orchestra to perform Shostakovich's Cello Concerto, which has become one of the most popular works of the cello repertoire. The season will end with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, known as the Pathetique.
