Griot kora master Sadio Cissokho’s enchanting Mandinka struggle songs are accompanied by West African bass grooves, locked in with the forceful local drum kit sound. Fierce sabar drum patterns and the national dance style of mballax bring alive music straight from the Casamance region of Senegal. Sadio has toured Europe extensively, played at Womad and Glastonbury and supported Salif Keita and Youssou N’dour in Senegal this April.
