Nathan Riki Thomson is a UK-based, Australian bassist, best known here for his work with guitarist Antonio Forcione, Thomson is also a member of the Adriano Adewale Group, The Ian McMillan Orchestra and The Carver Trio. He has a special interest in Africa - where he lived and worked with traditional musicians for five years (including studying with the legendary Dr Hukwe Zawose). This concert features his brand new album, Under Ubi’s Tree, which couples melodic warmth and charm with his supple, rich bass playing and dexterous use of Africa’s myriad instruments.
